Nigeria's Dancehall king, Patoranking covers
the latest issue of Mystreetz Magazine, the cover with the theme, “Patoranking- the New PosterBoy of Dancehall
music” also shows us the act’s amazing dress style.
The Reggae/Dancehall act served a eccentric
style in a white ripped denim over white T-shirt and a beige suede jacket. He
spiced the dressing up with his signature gold blings complete with matching wristwatch,
ring and aviator shades.
In the crucial issue, the artiste talked on his career, dancehall and filling the
shoes of popular acts like Blackky
and many others and throwing more light on how Reggae/dancehall music is
getting more accepted in Nigeria and beyond.
It was revealed that "Reggae music was
gradually hitting an all-time low within young generation of music lovers until
Dancehall artistes like Patoranking
stepped in and re-energized the scene just like the artiste Blackky did some
years back. The argument will continue to arise about the content of Blackky's and Patoranking's music to what Reggae was supposed to be but the truth
is, the world is changing. As long as they obey the fundamental structure of
this genre, the message will continue to evolve depending on the part of the
world they live in and the state of mind of the majority of their audience'.
